The Dark Energy Survey (DES) is an ongoing Stage III cosmology survey in optical to near-infrared wavelengths. I will briefly review the current state of the survey and demonstrate how ongoing improvements of data quality and consistency have enabled the first publication based on DES data, a lensing analysis of four massive galaxy clusters.

I will make the case that utilizing lensing from all elements of the cosmic web – galaxies, clusters, filaments, and voids – will not only provide us with new insights into astrophysics and fundamental physics. It will also equip us with the means to conduct one of the most difficult measurements in modern cosmology: cosmic shear.
